Tim was drafted by the St. Louis Blues and played hockey in Penticton, BC, Canada, before injuries sidelined him to the coaching ranks. Over the years he coached at every youth hockey level in Minnesota, from Mites to High School.

His passion was developing the youth hockey players he so loved and boasted coaching some current NHL players when they were Pee Wees. Tim also coordinated the Greater Grand Forks Youth Football League for the past eleven years and was a gifted stone & brick mason creating beautiful fireplaces and other creations. He actively participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life since 2000. He was united into marriage to his soul mate, Lori on June 11, 1984 in Grand Forks, ND.

Tim had a kind presence and personality that drew people to him; he loved to tease his children, nieces, nephews, family, and team. His commitment and love for his family rivaled no other. He loved to watch his children participate in all their activities whether figure skating, football, cheerleading, baseball, musicals, or hockey; he was a dedicated "Daddio".

We have been blessed to have been touched by his love, humor, encouragement, gentleness, and wisdom.

He will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends; his wife and love of his life for 25 years, Lori of EGF, Minnesota; children Holly (Tyler Messelt), David, Brooke, and Jhett, all of EGF, Minnesota; granddaughter, Ella Adele; sisters: Sharon Tinkler of East Grand Forks, Minnesota and Gelene (Kenny) Riendeau of Grand Forks, ND; brothers: Ron (Kate) of Mahnomen, Minnesota, Rick (Diann) of EGF, Minnesota, Ken (Sandy) of EGF, Minnesota, Larry of EGF, Minnesota, Mike (Sandra) of Mahnomen, Minnesota and Dale (Sheryl) of EGF, Minnesota; sister-in-law: Dorothy Pesch of Grand Forks, ND; in-laws: Dale & Henrietta West of Grand Forks, ND; brothers-in-law: Doug and Darrin West both of Grand Forks, ND; 33 nieces and nephews; 52 great nieces and nephews.
