Biography--

Donald Lee, 70, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died Monday, March 12, 2007 at his home under Red River Valley Hospice Care. Donald Joseph Lee was born December 20, 1936 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Raymond and Alice (Patterson) Lee. He grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks. He married Lois Lund on Dec. 20, 1959 in Crookston, Minnesota. He served his country in the US Army from January 14, 1960 to March 26, 1962. He work 30 years for A & H Vending and was known as the "Candy Man". He loved hunting and was a Lifetime Member of the East Grand Forks Rod and Gun Club, a member of the East Grand Forks American Legion #157, the Eagles Club #350 and the East Grand Forks Senior Citizens Center. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lois of East Grand Forks, children, David (Fran) Lee of West Fargo, James Lee of East Grand Forks, Clifford (Missy) Lee of St. Clair, Michigan, Donna (Rick) Schmit of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin, Michelle Lee of East Grand Forks, Cindy (Baldwin) Kuchenbecker of West Fargo, Jody (Mike) Ahles of Grand Forks, 17 grandchildren, brothers, Earl (Ivonne) Lee of Grand Forks, Allen Lee of Grand Forks, William (Carol) Lee of Walker, Minnesota, Clifford (JoAnn) Lee of Luray, Virginia, Charlie (Peggy) Lee of Birmingham, Iowa, Terry (Nancy) Lee of West Fargo, North Dakota, sisters Mary Jane (Jesse) Laughery of Crookston, Minnesota, Peggy (Randy) Dozhier of Grand Forks, and sister in law Karen Lee of Grand Forks. Knute Lageson

1910-2007

Biography--

Knute Lageson 97, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Knute Lageson was born the son of Knut and Bella (Sollom) Lageson on November 13, 1910 in Grand Forks. Knute grew up in the rural Thompson, North Dakota, area where he farmed. On June 5, 1938 Knute was united in marriage to Agnes Nelson in Reynolds, North Dakota. Knute managed Ole's Place Bar on the point in East Grand Forks and he also was a potato inspector. Knute then worked for American Crystal Sugar for 26 years and was a Bartender for Fulgren's Bar in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Following his retirement from American Crystal Sugar Co., Knute managed the Eagles Club #350 in East Grand Forks for 2 years, and then managed the Legion Club in Grand Forks, North Dakota, for 5 years.

Following his management career, Knute began working for the Minnesota, State Department of Transportation working at the Fisher Landing Rest Area.

Knute was a life member of the Eagles Club #350 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and was also on the East Grand Forks City Council.

Knute is survived by his wife, Agnes; daughter, Lana (Richard) Smith, Grand Forks, North Dakota; sisters, Corrine Boushey of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Glenna Miller, East Grand Forks, Minnesota; 2 granddaughters, JoAnn (Robert) Denning of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Donna (Chris) Heck of Dilworth, Minnesota, 1 great grandson, Nicholas Denning (Karli Krank) and 4 great-great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Jaxson, Jaidan, and Madison.

Knute is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Ann (Musil) Larson

1917-2008

Biography--

Ann Larson, 90, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Ann was born on February 9, 1917 in Northland Township rural Tabor, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Anna Musil. Ann grew up and attended school in Oslo, Minnesota. On February 3, 1946 she was united in marriage to Elmer Larson in the Grand Marais Church of rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota. She received her BS degree in Elementary Education from Moorhead State College. Ann taught in rural schools and in Oslo, Minnesota. She retired in 1980 after teaching 33 years. Elmer and Ann moved into East Grand Forks on May 24, 2007. Elmer died July 6, 2007.

Family members who survive Ann are 1 son, Donald (Delora) Larson of Huntsville, AL, 1 brother, Joe (Leona) Musil Sr. of Detroit, MI, 2 sisters-in-law; Gladys Useldinger of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Loretta Musil of Grand Forks, North Dakota, 1 brother-in-law; Kenneth (Eileen) Larson of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ann in death are her parents, her husband Elmer, 2 brothers, Charles and Frank and an infant daughter.

Craig Allen Lanning

1943-2008

December 4, 1943 - March 10, 2008

Biography--

Craig Lanning, age 64, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Craig Allen Lanning was born on December 4, 1943 in Montevideo, Minnesota, the son of John M. and Alene (Laumb) Lanning. Craig was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo, Minnesota. He also lived for a short time in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Milbank, SD before returning to Montevideo, Minnesota, where he graduated from High School.

In 1963 he married Eunice Olson in Appleton, Minnesota. Craig made a career out of being a Parts Manager at Swenson Implement, Home Brothers and Olson's before being asked to head the Parts Sales & Service Management class at the AVTI in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, in 1973. On May 3, 2004 Craig was united in marriage to Susan (Novak) Pic in Crookston, Minnesota. He retired in May of 2004. Craig was an avid Outdoorsman and enjoyed Hunting & Fishing in which he belonged to many area sportsmen's Clubs.

Family members who survive Craig include his wife Susan of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, four sons, Vance Lanning of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Jason (Charity) Lanning of Karlstad, Minnesota, Jacob Pic of Pisek, North Dakota, and Joseph (Jessie) Pic of Park River, North Dakota, one daughter, Jackie Pic of Grafton, North Dakota, four grandchildren, Dawson, Lola, Justin and Julia.

Preceding Craig in death is his parents and one sister Marsha.

Visitation: 4:30 to 6:30 with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Friday, March 14th, 2008 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church and 1 hour prior funeral service on Saturday.

Delia Love of rural Euclid, Minnesota, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 12, 2008.

Delia Francis Pribula was born on January 31, 1923 the Daughter of John and Albina (Huderle) Pribula. She grew up and attended country school in the Oslo, Minnesota, area. She married Robert Love and they farmed near Euclid, Minnesota. Delia also managed the Salvation Army for several years. She spent summers on the farm near Euclid and winters in Bullhead City, AZ.

She is survived by her husband: Robert, Euclid, Minnesota; children: Lois (Donald) Martin, Mitchell, SD, Jerome (Cindy) Love, Knoxville, TN, James (Diane) Love, Euclid, Minnesota, Rinehart (Deborah) Love, Fargo, North Dakota, Beverly (Dennis) Eggebraaten, Grand Forks, North Dakota, Robben (Pamala) Love, Euclid, Minnesota, and Ronald (Judy) Love, Bullhead City, AZ; daughter-in-law: Nikki Love, Crookston, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sisters Lillian Case, Lisbon, North Dakota, and Valerie Dudinsky, Ohio; and brother: Les Pribula, Hamilton, MT.

Wallace Francis LaMoine

Wallace F. "Wally" LaMoine, 87 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, September 4th, 2009 at the Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Wallace Francis LaMoine was born September 5, 1921 the son of John Michel and Cecilia (Burton) LaMoine in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He grew up in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. He married Henrietta E. Moleski on June 21, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. He served in the CCC's and the US Army Medical Corp in World War II as a cook. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad and the American Crystal Sugar Company until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church as well as the choir and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening and dancing.

Wallace is survived by his sons: Father Gary LaMoine of Barnesville, Minnesota, Ronald LaMoine and Jim (Rita) LaMoine of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; his daughters: Diane Minchinton of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Lori Masserelli of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; grandchildren: Katie Minchinton, Kerry Minchinton, Amber (Josh) Blair, Kaylee LaMoine and Jason LaMoine.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Henrietta (Hank) on June 19, 1997; sisters: Flora Mair, Obie Ench, Regina Vigen, Mary Hurst, Louise Couch, Dorothy Poole, Maybelle Burwell and Mina Ruddy; brothers: Clarence, Dennis and William LaMoine.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Schools.

Biography--

Donald Lyons, 79, formerly of Mentor, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota, with his daughter by his side.

Donnie was born on May 31, 1930 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. He enlisted in the United States Navy, and served his country from 1949 to 1953. On June 10, 1955 he was united in marriage to Bette Logan. Donnie was a Construction Electrician for 40 years working for his dad at Dixon Electric & Marine in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and then later working in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Family members who survive Donnie include his daughter: Susie (Dave) Hetland of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; two granddaughters: Shandi (Mike) Schmitz of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Farrah (David) Spivey of Bemidji, Minnesota; Great-grandchildren: Evan and Lauren Schmitz, Sammy and Hudson Spivey; one sister: Yvonne (Tom) Lawler of Overland Park, KA; sister-in-law: Judy (Carl) Roseman of Boulder City, NV and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donnie is preceded in death by his parents: Dick & Elizabeth Dixon; his wife Bette of 45 years on October 18, 2001 and one sister Betty Braden.

Judy "Grandma Judy" Lindstrom of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to be with her loving husband Clayton.

Judy Rae Weaver was born on August 1, 1935 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Josie (Zahnow) Weaver. Judy grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and attended school at Grand Forks Central High School.

On December 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Clayton Lindstrom in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Judy worked at W.W. Woolworth Department Store, T & T Seeds and the American Legion.

Family members who survive Judy include her son Scott (Sue) Lindstrom of Marana, AZ and daughter Sherry (Rick) Pape of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; granddaughters: Ambur (Ryan) Mette, Jesse, Josie, Nichole of Marana, AZ, Ashley (David) Enkelaar of Palmbay, FL, Nicole, Lindsey, Abby Pape of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, grandson: Travis Foster of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; great grandchildren: Andrew, Domnic, Brandon, Emily and Cooper; one brother: Ron Weaver of Grand Forks, North Dakota, one sister: Jean (Roger) Parent of Livingston, TX; special neighbor: Mike Butler along with many nieces & nephews.

Almore Orville Lind

1930-2010

March 1, 1930 - June 3, 2010

Almore Lind, age 80, of Oslo, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Almore Orville Lind was born on March 1, 1930 the son of Ole and Anna (Thompson) Lind. Almore grew up in Higdem Township of Polk County, Minnesota, and attended Oslo High School, graduating with the Class of 1947. Almore joined the United States Army and was enlisted during the Korean Conflict in which he drove an army tank and was Tank Commander of Tank #33 "Buttons and Bows". He also received the Purple Heart Award during his time served in the Korean Conflict.

On September 7, 1957 he was united in marriage to Ila Solem in Oslo, Minnesota. Almore farmed with his brothers Norris and Ordean. He retired in 1995. Almore was a lifelong member of Kongsvinger Lutheran Church where he was a former Board Member. He was also a member of the Oslo School Board, Higdem Township Board, Oslo American Legion #331, East Grand Forks, VFW Post 3817 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Almore also received the Polk County Soil Conservation Award in 1985.

Danny Ernest "Dan" Love

1964-2011

Danny Ernest "Dan" Love, age 45, was born on December 15, 1964, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of John and Delores (Peterson) Love died December 4, 2010 of a sudden heart attack.

He started school in Drayton, North Dakota, and graduated from Hillsboro High School. After graduating he worked in many foodservice jobs, until going back to school at UMC in Crookston Minnesota. After college he started working for GFG/US Foods in EGF, working in different locations as a salesman, until finally settling down in the Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, area.

He loved cooking, golfing, snowmobiling, gardening and socializing with everyone. He was able to make people laugh with his humor and was the life of any party. He will be greatly missed by family, his many friends and clients.

Danny is survived by his parents John and Delores (Peterson) Love, brother Jerry (Laura) Love of Warroad, Minnesota, sisters Debbie (Merle) Ferry of Finley, North Dakota, and Diana (Dennis) Kirkeby of Grand Forks North Dakota, 7 nieces and nephews, Stacy and John Ferry, Samatha Ness, Sarah Solberg, Merranda, Kaylee and Brady Kirkeby.

James LeTexier

1934-2011

February 15, 1934 - January 5, 2011

James "Jim" LeTexier, 76, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jim was born the son of Frank and Lena (Martineau) LeTexier on February 15, 1934 in Backoo, North Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Church, in LeRoy, North Dakota. Jim also grew up and attended school in LeRoy. He entered the US Army in 1954 to 1956. He was united in marriage to Bev Hughes on November 25, 1955 in Olympia, WA. Jim worked at the Neche, North Dakota, Elevator.

In 1962 Jim was called back to active duty in the US Army and was stationed in Germany until he returned home. Jim attended electrical school in Winnipeg, Canada. He worked for Motor Coach in Pembina, North Dakota. In 1968 they moved to Grand Forks. Jim worked for Smith Construction until his retirement in 1974. Jim had a strong commitment to the American Legion organizations. He served two terms as the East Grand Forks American Legion Post 157 Commander, one term as the 9th District Commander and was elected as the Minnesota, American Legion Department Commander from 1990-1991. Jim was also a member of ANIVICUS. Jim was past Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Christ the King Council #5341. Jim was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church community. Jim served as a Eucharistic Minister and also served as a past president for the Sacred Heart Athletic Association.

Jim is survived by his wife: Bev LeTexier, East Grand Forks, Minnesota; children: Mark (Ruth), East Grand Forks, Minnesota, James A. (Judeth), Honolulu, HI, Marty (Rebecca), Sioux Falls, SD, Jerry (Kellie), Bremerton, WA, Jenny, East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Monty (Micki), Basin, MT; 18 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother: Richard (Jan), East Grand Forks, Minnesota; sisters: Margaret Galle, Park Rapids, Minnesota, Ramona Latraille, Grafton, North Dakota, Louise (John) Gariepy, St. Paul, Minnesota, Joyce Ann (Joe) Sturbisky, Bowmanville, ON, Canada, and Dorothy Mae (LaVerne) Scholler, Cavalier, North Dakota. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Edward, Thomas and Gene; sisters: Beatrice and Bernice; and granddaughter: Tiffany.

Karen Ann (Zeis) Lee

1944-2011

December 15, 1944 - June 21, 2011

Karen Ann Lee, 66, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota

Karen Zeis was born on December 15, 1944, to parents Benedict and Eileen (Hell) Zeis. Raised on a farm in Wales, North Dakota, Karen enjoyed spending many hours hunting and fishing with family and friends.

In 1963, Karen graduated from Wales High School, attended Aakers Business School after high school, and soon thereafter met and married Lavern Lee on September 25, 1965 in Crookston, Minnesota. From 1965 to 1985 they traveled around the world where Lavern honorably served in the Army and Karen devoted her life as a military wife. From 1984 to 1998, Karen managed the Army and Air Force Exchange Service until she retired in Omaha Nebraska.

Karen was a devoted mother to four throughout the years. Her never ending love, sacrifice and commitment as a mom and friend will be missed deeply by all.

Inga E. Lillfors, age 86, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, Minnesota

Inga Edla Lillfors was born on November 8, 1924 in Oravais, Finland, the daughter of August and Edla Hegg. Inga grew up in Finland and worked as a Pediatric Nurses Aide and as a Seamstress. In 1950 she moved to the United States. On January 22, 1955 she was united in marriage to Birger Lillfors in Bessemer, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Birger Lillfors on July 16, 1995; brothers, Nels, Raynold and Oscar; sisters, Alice, Ogda and Eilee.

Mae E. Larson age 79 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Mae Emma Larson was born on May 8, 1932, in Enderlin, North Dakota, the daughter of George and Amanda Eley. Mae grew up in the Enderlin, North Dakota, area and attended school in Hillsboro, North Dakota, where she graduated from High School. She married Les Pederson. Mae worked as a nanny and homemaker and then moved to East Grand Forks, Minnesota, where she also worked as a nanny and housekeeper for many years.

On November 21, 1990 she married Gleason Larson in Crookston, Minnesota.

Mae is survived by her husband Gleason of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; children, Dale (Vicki) Pederson of Ada, Minnesota, David (Deb) Pederson of Portland, North Dakota, Ricky Pederson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Randy Pederson of San Marcos, CA, Vicki (Jason) Keasler of Perham, Minnesota, and Terry Pederson of Grand Forks, North Dakota; step-children, Melody Larson of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Karen Larson of Springfield, MO, Arleen (Rob) Berg of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Audrey (Greg) Lammers of Liberty, MO, Jeffery (Kristi) Larson of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Lori (Dave) Kopischke of Morgan, Minnesota, Peter (Zoranna) Larson of Blackduck, Minnesota, and Paul (Wendy) Larson of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon (Judy) Eley of Denver, CO and 1 sister Gloria (Gene) Boeddeker of Mayville, North Dakota.

Life Legacy--

Bernice A. Lorentzson, age 85, of Climax, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday Evening, May 10th, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Bernice Almira Lorentzson was born on March 19, 1927 in Trail, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur and Emma (Tollefson) Weberg. She was baptized and confirmed at the Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail. She attended Trail Public School. In March of 1962, Bernice was united in marriage to Clifton Lorentzson at Sand Valley Lutheran Church. The couple spent their entire married life in the Climax and Buxton area. Clifton passed away in June of 1993. Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Bernice will be remembered and loved by all for her kindness and compassion for everyone who entered her life. She loved to laugh and socialize with friends and family.

Family members of Bernice include her son Doyle (Lois) Heden of Buxton; grandchildren, Doyle (Carmen) Heden Jr. of Moorhead, Minnesota, Derek (Lisa) Heden of Fargo, North Dakota, Heidi (Chad) Durand of Moorhead, Minnesota, and Holly (Brian) Schlapkohl of Hendrum, Minnesota, along with five great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Weberg of Trail and many nieces and nephews.

Biography--

Dorothy Lightfoot, 78, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Dorothy Lightfoot was born March 31, 1934 in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada the daughter of Eugene and Gladys (Sprague) Eatinger. She moved to Wolf Point, Montana and attended schools in Wolf Point, Froid and Glasgow, Montana. She married Ron Norman on June 10, 1954 in Glasgow, Montana. They lived in Browning, Montana for a number of years. They moved to East Grand Forks in 1969 where she ran the Coop Dog House, and Carols Ice Crème Parlor. She married Gordon "Gus" Lightfoot on March 31, 1978. They moved to Germany where she worked for AAFES at numerous bases. They moved back to East Grand Forks in 1982 where she owned and operated D and B Cleaning.

She is survived by her husband Gordon "Gus" Lightfoot of East Grand Forks, four children, Iva (Steve) Rossow of Newport Richey, Florida, Terri (Mark) Freeman of Bismarck, North Dakota, John Norman and Del (Jane) Norman of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, step children, Gerry (Julye) Lightfoot, of Poulsbo, WA, John (Lora) Lightfoot of Merced, CA, Gwen (David) Cherf of Merced, CA and Kathy (Darin) Smith of Belleview, NB, 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Judy Sheets of Drommond, MT, Charles Eatinger, of Helena, Montana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Ronald Norman Jr., sister, Shirley Johnson, brother Billy Lee Eatinger and two grandchildren, Matthew Lightfoot and Lara Jane Norman.

Debora Sue Loeck, 62, of Tenstrike, Minnesota, and formerly of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at her home.

Debora Loeck was born July 30, 1950 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Cameron and Marjorie (Humble) Nelson. She grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High School. She married Darrel Loeck in East Grand Forks on September 11, 1971. They lived in Balaton, Minnesota, where she farmed with her husband, lived until moving back to East Grand Forks in 1987. She started her own wholesale clothing embroidery business in 1996. She farmed in the East Grand Forks area until they moved to Tenstrike, Minnesota, in 2004.

She is survived by her husband Darrel of Tenstrike, Minnesota; daughter Jenny Loeck of Roseville, Minnesota; son Jerod Loeck of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her father, Cameron of East Grand Forks; 1 sister Cindy (David) Moore of East Grand Forks; and brother Kevin (Erin) Nelson of East Grand Forks.

She is preceded in death by her mother Marjorie, and grandparents, Edna and Albert Nelson and Irene and Rueben Humble.

Following services, there will be a gathering at the East Grand Forks American Legion.

Kent R. Larson, age 76, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, June 17th, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota

Kent Richard Larson was born on July 20, 1936, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Oswald and Helene (Chapman) Larson. Kent grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks, graduating from Central High School.

Following graduation from high school he joined the United States Army. On July 22, 1960 he was united in marriage to Marion Martin in East Grand Forks. Kent worked for American Crystal Sugar Company in East Grand Forks and Crookston, retiring in 1994.

Kent was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Elks and Eagles Lodge #350.

Family members of Kent include his children, Brian (Sue) Larson and Darin (Nan) Larson both of East Grand Forks; Lynn (Steve) Sand of Peoria, AZ and Kim (Paul) Filson of Grand Forks; 11 grandchildren, Alex Larson, Ashley Senger, Ben, Anna and Sara Hulteng, Matthew and Brianna Filson, Cortney and Zachary Sand, Tyler and Gina Larson along with many nieces and nephews.

Kathryn was born on December 6, 1935, to Robert Will, Sr. and Margaret (Gunnes) Will in Grand Forks, North Dakota. There she graduated Fisher High School and afterwards Akers Business College. She worked for Northern Plumbing Supply Company of Grand Forks, was the Secretary for the North Dakota, State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists, and Success Unlimited Grand Forks.

Kathryn is survived by her four sons: Richard (Vickie) Legg of Buxton, North Dakota, Todd (Leslie) Legg of Grafton, North Dakota, Brian Legg of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Robert (Pamela) Legg of Grand Forks, North Dakota; sister Betty Joyce of Round Rock, TX; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Kathryn was predeceased by her parents, her brother Robert Will, and granddaughter Veronica Hurley.

Alva Geraldine (Amundson) Landon

Biography--

Alva Amundson Landon, 89, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Riverview Hospital, Crookston, Minnesota.

Alva Geraldine Amble was born on July 7, 1917 in St. Hilaire, Minnesota, the daughter of James Arthur and Otta (Skeie) Amble. Alva moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota, with her parents in 1919. She attended school in Grand Forks, North Dakota, graduating in 1935 from Central High School.

On June 26, 1938 she was united in marriage to Walter Stauning. They then moved to Portland, Oregon where Walter passed away in 1945. Alva returned to Grand Forks, North Dakota, in 1947 and married Arthur M. Amundson.

She worked at the Grand Forks Credit Bureau for several years. They moved to East Grand Forks, in 1950 where she continued to work for the Grand Forks Credit Bureau. Arthur Amundson passed away in February of 1981. She married Jack D. Landon on January 21, 1984 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Alva had been an active member of First Lutheran Church, The Heritage Foundation and the Senior Center of East Grand Forks, Minnesota. She worked in the office of Jerry Driscoll for more than 18 Years.

Family members who survive Alva include her husband; Jack of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, daughters; Carol Lavelle (Judd McKinnon), Bonnie (Donald) Vonasek and Darlene (Richard) Noyes all of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Judy (Ronald) Haney of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Janice (William) Ferguson of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Linda Amundson of Phoenix, Arizona, sons; Thomas (Marie) Amundson and Ron Amundson both of Grand Forks, North Dakota, step-daughters; Bonnie (William) Boxler and Beverly Jovich both of Akron, Ohio, 16 grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren.

Alva is preceded in death by her parents, son; Gary, sister; Anita Grina, brothers; Raymond, James and Stanton (Bud) Amble.

Cletus Landa Sr. 78 passed away on Tuesday November 20, 2007 at his home in East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Cletus Landa was born on December 2, 1928, in Crookston, Minnesota, the son of Louis and Helen (Brantl) Landa. He grew up and attended school near Crookston, Minnesota. He served his country in the US Army from 1952-1954 where he received two bronze stars and a purple heart. Following his discharge, he married Nancy Carrillo in Crookston, Minnesota, on February 14, 1957. He worked for area farmers until his retirement in 1995.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of East Grand Forks, children, Cletus (Barb) Landa of East Grand Forks, Allen Landa of East Grand Forks, Step Children, Alice (Milan) Wiertzma of Grand Forks, Patty (Terry) Rogers, of Grand Forks and Thomas Carrillo, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

His is preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson Christopher Landa and 1 brother Leighton Landa.

He was a member of the East Grand Forks VFW and American Legion.

Kathryn Lindahl, 48, of Ridgecrest, California, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Regional Hospital, Ridgecrest, California.

Kathryn was born the daughter of Kenneth and Joan Omdahl on April 21, 1959 in Crookston, Minnesota. She attended River Heights Elementary School in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1977. She married Mark Lindahl in 1986. Kathy was the perfect Mom, wife, daughter, sister and friend, she enjoyed being with friends and family, babysitting, camping, riding her quad, swimming, decorating and Fantasy Football. Full of fun, hope and an amazing amount of strength and courage, Kathy lost her battle with breast cancer.

She is survived by her husband Mark of Ridgecrest, California; sons: Michael (Heather) Torrance, Grand Forks, North Dakota, Matthew Lindahl, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Adam Lindahl, Ridgecrest, CA; grandson: Ty Torrance, Grand Forks, North Dakota; mother: Joan of East Grand Forks, siblings: Ruth (Pat) Callahan, of Olympia, WA, Dennis Omdahl of East Grand Forks, Audrey Chaput of Mahtomedi, Minnesota, Ray Omdahl of Baudette, Minnesota, Linda (John) Deitz of East Grand Forks, and Steve Omdahl of East Grand Forks; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and cousins; and countless friends and supporters. Rosemary Larson, 62 of Euclid, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Rosemary Dondoneau was born on February 15, 1946 in Crookston, Minnesota, the daughter of Steve and Elizabeth (Haupt) Dondoneau. Rosemary grew up in rural Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, and graduated from Red Lake Falls High School. On September 3, 1966 Rosemary was united in marriage to Roger Larson in Terrebonne, Minnesota. Rosemary worked at RBJ's Restaurant and Eagle Drug of Crookston, Minnesota, where she was currently employed. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, American Legion Auxiliary Post of Euclid, Minnesota, and was an officer on the St. Mary's Catholic Church Parish Council.

Family members who survive Rosemary include her husband Roger of Euclid, Minnesota, children, Ross (Tonya) Larson and their children Hailey, Reed, Mattea of Bonner Springs, KS, Timothy (Nicole) Larson and their children Dylan, Grace, Thomas and Nicholas of Waconia, Minnesota, Anthony (Nicole) Larson and his children, Samuel and Joshua of Duluth, Minnesota, and Kimberly (Tom) Meyer of Hillsboro, North Dakota; siblings, Donald (Marie) Dondoneau, Vern (JoAnne) Dondoneau, Irene (Paul) Hoks all of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Lester (Debbie) Dondoneau of West Fargo, North Dakota, and several nieces and nephews.

Gordon James Love

1933-2009

Biography--

Gordon "Gordy" James Love, 76, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, formerly of Euclid, Minnesota, died on Friday, December 11, 2009 at his home.

Gordy was born the son of James and Amber Love on January 14, 1933. He was delivered at home during a blizzard by his aunt Gladis. Gordy grew up and attended a county school near Euclid. He attended AC College in Crookston, Minnesota, then the U of M in Mankato, Minnesota. Gordy entered the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War as military police. After the war Gordy farmed with his father. Gordy married Marlys M. Larson on November 25, 1966. Gordy and Marlys tried for several years but could not carry a child to full term. In September of 1973 they adopted a baby girl whom they named Lisa, from the Lutheran Children's Home Society of Minnesota. She was 8 week old when they got to take her home. Gordy worked for area farmers and also worked in Alaska as a hunting guide and cook. Gordy lost his wife on May 9, 2005 due to complications to diabetes and cancer.

He is survived by his Daughter, Lisa Love, Grand Forks, North Dakota; Sister, Dorothy (Ronald) Jeffery, La Cross, Wisconsin; numerous cousins, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marlys and his parents.

Services: 10:00 AM Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Visitation: Friday, December 18, 2009 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM with a Masonic Service at 6:00 PM at the Church.

Kenneth Levoy Larson

1923-2010

July 8, 1923 - March 2, 2010

Kenneth Larson, 86, lifelong resident of Esther Township, rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 of pancreatic cancer.

Kenneth Levoy Larson was born July 8, 1923 to John and Emma (Johnson) Larson at home in Esther Township. He attended rural public school. He proudly and honorably served in the US Army from 1944 through the wars end in 1945. He was united in marriage to Barbara K. Bach on October 30, 1947. Kenneth worked at Great Northern Railroad, Transport Inc., Christy's Hills Oliver Implement, and farmed with his brother Elmer Larson until his retirement in 1988. Barbara passed away in December 1985.

After more than 50 years he became reacquainted with Eileen Horejsh in 1997. They married on January 15, 2007. Kenneth never met a stranger, could fix or build anything, was very proud of family heritage. He was the family historian and traveled extensively throughout the US and was able to visit Norway twice. He had a pilots license and owned a 1939 Piper Cub airplane. Dad loved his family, took time to play with and enjoy his grandchildren, and was always sure to take the family on annual vacations. Kenneth's family and friends enjoyed his mischievous spirit and the twinkle in his eye. He was a member of the East Grand Forks American Legion #157 and VFW #3817.

He is survived by his wife Eileen Horejsh Larson, sister Gladys Useldinger of Grand Forks, Children, Cheryel Larson of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Terry (Toni) Larson, Keith (Sandi) Larson, Richard (Kathy) Larson, all of Grand Forks, Kathy (Larson) Odom of Midland, TX, Kent (Nancy) Larson, of Stillwater, Minnesota, Ron (Donna) Larson of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special family friend, Tammy Graff.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, brother Elmer Larson, sisters Myrtle Kagg and Arlette Hudgel and grandson Jeremy Larson.

Lupe was born on December 3, 1934 in Sequine, Texas. The family moved to Oslo, Minnesota, in 1949. On June 27, 1953 Lupe was united in marriage to Irene J. Garcia. In 1955 they moved to East Grand Forks, Minnesota, where they made their home. Lupe was employed with A & J Enterprises (now Wilbur-Ellis) for over 45 years, retiring in 2001.

Lupe is preceded in death by his parents Eligio Longoria & Enriqueta Muniz; siblings, Benny, Paul, Eno, Alonso, Frank and Stella.

Family members who survive Lupe include his wife Irene; children, Lupe Jr. (Judy) Longoria of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Rich (Bev) Longoria of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Yvonne (Mike) Nicklay of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and JoEnne Longoria of Grand Forks, North Dakota; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren along with 1 sister Janie (Larry) Garcia of Bay City, TX.

Biography--

Arnold A. Lindquist, age 80, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 at his home in East Grand Forks.

Arnold Alvin Lindquist was born on the family farm in Northland Township of Polk County, Minnesota, on September 20, 1931 the son of Edwin and Ruth (Skavlem) Lindquist. Arnold grew up in Northland Township and also attended Country School there. He then attended the Crookston AC for 2 years. In 1956 he joined the United States Army where he served his country until 1958. Following his discharge from the Army he then returned to Northland Township of rural East Grand Forks where he farmed and raised Dairy Cattle his entire life until retiring in 1987.

Family members who survive Arnold include a brother Duane (Ellen) Lindquist of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and a sister, JoAnn (Wayne E.) Nelson of Oslo, Minnesota, along with many nieces & nephews.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Loretta Renden.

Biography--

Leola "Maggie" Larson, age 86, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, September 28th, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Svanbjorg Leola "Maggie" Magnusson was born on November 7, 1923 in Duxby, Minnesota, the daughter of Gudmunder and Thorlaug (Finnson) Magnusson. Leola grew up and graduated from High School in Milton, North Dakota. Leola then went on to Nursing School at the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing and graduated with the Class of 1945.

On August 17, 1947 she was united in marriage to Milton Larson in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Leola served in the United States Army Nurse Corp at Bushnell Army Hospital in Brigham City, UT.

After the war she returned to Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where she worked until retiring as Nursing Supervisor in July of 1986 from United Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Leola was an active member of the Deaconess Alumni Association, L'Etudier Study Club, Bethany Lutheran Church and WELCA in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and the Good Samaritan Auxiliary.

Family members who survive Leola include her 1 son Wayne (Joyce Enger) Larson of Tucson, AZ, 3 daughters, Renae (Tom) Oothoudt, of Little Falls, Minnesota, Jan (Jim) Baune of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Cindy (Brian) Flom, of Flower Mound, TX, along with 14 grandchildren, Matt (Michelle), Luke (Becky) and Sam Larson, Greg (Lisa), Brad (Amy), Amber, Jesse and Kris (Nellie) Oothoudt, Layne (Scott) Freudenrich, Jenna (Jake) Reese and Seth Baune, Lindsey, Haley and Morgan Flom and 14 great-grandchildren, twin sister, Viola Main of Atlanta, GA, sisters, Cecelia (Loren) Dunnigan of Lincoln, NE, Lola (Frank) Mollner of Aurora, CO, Thorey Green of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Shirley Wild of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, 2 sisters-in-law, Lois Magnusson of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Doris Magnusson of Spearfish, SD and several nieces and nephews.

Leola is preceded in death by her parents; husband Milton on December 13, 2000; and two brothers, John and Marvin Magnusson.

William T. Love

November 3, 1932 - July 14, 2011

William Love, 78, of Stanton, North Dakota, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at his home.

William Love was born November 3, 1932 in Nisbet Township, Polk County, Minnesota, the son of Robert and Mathilda (Mehren) Love. He grew up in Polk County and attended school in Fisher and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School. He worked for Butler Construction and Machinery. He married Lorraine Effhauser in East Grand Forks on November 21, 1953.

They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he worked for a number of years, moving back to East Grand Forks where he farmed. He also worked construction and for Northland Chemical from 1961 -- 1970. He moved to Bullhead City, AZ in 1987. Lorraine Loved died in August of 1987. He married Mona Williams on January 15, 1988 in Bullhead City, AZ. He worked on the ABM from 1970-1976. He also worked for McCormick Construction and Technology Construction in Bullhead City from 1986-1989, and for Yellowstone Transportation as a pilot car driver.

He is survived by his wife Mona of Wolf Point, Montana, children, Rebecca (David) Lindahl of Vanore, TN, Victoria Ann (David) Flanagan of Cavalier, North Dakota, Roxane (Verlyn) Starck of Center, North Dakota, Tammy (Bruce) Bjelland of Mandan, North Dakota, Rosanne Love of Stanton, North Dakota, and Thomas Love of Mandan, North Dakota, 21 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 step children, Sherri (Eddie) Brown of Fort Mohave, AZ, and Donald Tomsic of Wolf Point, Montana, sister Evelyn Vanek of East Grand Forks, and Robert Love of Euclid, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorraine, son Timothy, brother Delbert and a sister in infancy.

Biography--

Mary "Alice" Larson, age 88, of Climax, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Riverview Health Care in Crookston, Minnesota.

She was born on December 18, 1921 at Bagley, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward J. and Martha J. (Blake) Lefebvre. Alice grew up in Crookston, Minnesota, and married Allan Larson on August 19, 1944 in Crookston, Minnesota. They made their home in Climax, Minnesota, where Alice worked for the US Post Office for 38 years. She retired as postmaster of Climax in January of 1999. She was a member of Climax Lutheran Church and National Association of Postmasters.

Alice is survived by her four children; Marilyn (Karen Hover) Johnson of Rochester, WA, Jeffrey (Sue) Larson of Volga, SD, Melanie (Jerry) Tronnes of Climax, Minnesota, Dean (Barbie) Larson of Thompson, North Dakota, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Charles (Marlyn) Lefebvre of Minneapolis, Minnesota, George Lefebvre of Mesa, AZ, sister-in-law, Marlene (Jimmy) Cayler of Climax, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Allan on March 9, 1991, five brothers, Edward Jr., Louis, Leonard, Lawrence, Wilbert, two sisters, Lois and Angeline.

Biography

Sylvia Gale Leas was born March 2, 1942, in Crookston, Minnesota, to Arden and Josephine (Johnson) Leas. Sylvia died peacefully Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at home surrounded by her family from Red River West.

In 1984, Sylvia moved into a REM group home. She started attending Polk County DAC in 1985. In 1994 she moved to Red River West where she called home. Sylvia loved her friends, family, DAC family and RRW family. Sylvia was a free spirit, out spoken, feisty, knew how to get a rise out of anyone and always had a good time doing so. She loved Stuffed Animals, Elvis, Cowboys, Children and getting dolled up.

Sylvia is survived by her sisters Jean Prudhomme, Audrey Brandt, Andrea Axelson; 1 brother: Mylan Leas and her DAC family and last her family at Red River West.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Judy Hagl, Bonnie Hanson, 1 brother: Glenn Arden Leas and friends Brenda and Wayne.

Sylvia will be greatly missed and we love her ever so dearly.

Joseph Edward Larson

1920-2012

June 25, 1920 - November 11, 2012

Joseph E. Larson, age 92, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and formerly of Climax, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, November 11th, 2012 at Valley Memorial Homes, Woodside Village in Grand Forks.

Joseph Edward Larson was born on June 25, 1920, at rural Climax, Minnesota, the son of Martin and Helga (Thoreson) Larson. Joseph was baptized and confirmed at Sand Hill Lutheran Church and grew up and attended school in rural Climax, Minnesota. On January 10, 1943 he was united in marriage to Blanch Knutson of rural Fisher, Minnesota, in Tacoma, WA.

Joseph joined the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Fort Lewis, WA, served in France for 2 ½ years and was awarded the Bronze Star. Following his discharge from the Army in 1945 he returned to the Climax area where he farmed and was active in the community for his entire life. Joseph was one of the founders of the Climax Credit Union and served on their board of directors as chairman of the board for 8 years; he was on the Cenex Regional Board of Directors from 1960 -- 1990 and served as chairman of this board for nearly a decade.

Family members who survive Joe include his children, Jerry (Carole) Larson of Climax, Minnesota, Dianne (Paul) Brokke of Bozeman, MT and Darrell Larson of Grand Forks, North Dakota; 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Michelle) Lindgren, Daniel (Renae) Lindgren, Benjamin (Tonya) Larson, Denise (Michael) Bosley, Jennifer (JP) Collins, Jonathan (Tobi) Brokke, Garrett Nordstrom and Nathan (Jhoana) Nordstrom; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Elmer (Marion) Larson of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and sister-in-law, Gloria Larson of Jolliet, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; wife Blanch on May 15, 2006; 3 sisters, Anna Evenson, Idella Grove and Helen Evenson; 4 brothers Adolph, William, Lars and Melvin Larson.

Richard Roger Love

1962-2013

Life Legacy--

Richard R. Love age 50 of Fisher, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at his home in Fisher, Minnesota.

Richard Roger Love was born on May 1, 1962 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Roger and Evelina "Eva" (Abeld) Love.

Richard grew up in rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and attended school in Fisher, Minnesota, graduating with the Class of 1980. Following his high school graduation he joined the United States Navy in 1980 serving our country as a Sonar Technician on the USS Bainbridge in Bremerton, WA. In his spare time while on the ship he enjoyed cooking. In 1981 he was united in marriage to Heidi Wagner for several years. Richard was honorably discharged in 1984. After his navy career he attended the Area Vocational Technical College in East Grand Forks in the Banking and Finance Program graduating in 1987.

Richard worked at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, Minnesota, as a bookkeeper, worked for PPG and KABO Chemical companies. Richard also owned and operated Valley Fruits & Vegetables. Richard then went on and expanded this endeavor and began farming on his own while helping his father farm. Richard enjoyed designing and building, wood working, welding, golfing, playing billiards and shooting darts with all his friends.

Loving family members of Richard include his parents of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, children, Nicolai (Sara) of Jackson, MO, Jennifer (Stacy) of Lincoln, NE, Antoine of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Myles of Crookston, Minnesota; along with 4 grandchildren; siblings, Caroline (Dean) Tinkham of Fisher, Minnesota, Marlys (Colin) Pester of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Dwight (Peggy) Love of Grand Forks, North Dakota; grandmother, Inez Love of East Grand, Minnesota; and special friend Trudy Smith of Crookston, Minnesota.

Richard is predeceased in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Lucy Abeld and his paternal grandfather George "Ernie" Love.

Lois Lee, age 74, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at her home with her family at her side.

Lois Jean Lund was born on July 5, 1938 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Lawrence and Eva (Miller) Lund. Lois grew up and attended school in Emerado North Dakota. Lois worked for The Kegs, Toby's IT Drive Inn, American Legion Club and also enjoyed working at the East Grand Forks Senior Citizens Center. On December 20, 1959 she was united in marriage to Donald Lee in Crookston, Minnesota. Lois truly enjoyed playing Bingo and Pinochle.

She will be deeply missed by her loving family, grandchildren and all who knew her.
