Anna Marie (Nelson) Kozel 1964-2010
July 3, 1964 - May 29, 2010
Anna Marie Kozel lost her battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 45, on May 29, 2010 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota with her family by her side.
Anna was born on July 3, 1964 in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. She was the
daughter of David and Cecilia (Killian) Nelson. Anna grew up and attended
High School in Red Lake Falls graduating in 1983. She attended Northwest
Technical College and graduated with a degree in business. Anna later
moved to East Grand Forks, Minnesota where she met and Married Tom Kozel
on November 1991, to this union two children were born, Kyle Kozel (special
friend Alyssa Strand) of Grand Forks and Trevor Kozel of East Grand Forks.
Anna worked at Opticare of East Grand Forks, American West Insurance of Grand Forks, and Morely Law Firm of Grand Forks, where she obtained her degree and became a paralegal. Anna was currently working for Ray German Law Office of East Grand Forks. Anna had a quick mind and took great pleasure in her work and knowledge of the law.
She was loved by many people and will be remembered as a caregiver who always took care of anyone who touched her life. She was a gentle and beautiful person with a very big heart, who always made sure your needs were met. She took tremendous care in filling the needs of her family and was always there for them. Family was especially important to her. Anna treasured her nieces and nephews and never forgot a birthday. She enjoyed being at her lake home at Camp Pennington on Lake Kitchie. She especially loved spending time on Star Island and spent every weekend there if possible.
Anna is survived by her husband: Tom of East Grand Forks; two sons: Kyle of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Trevor of East Grand Forks. Parents: David and Cecilia Nelson, Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. and one brother: Jeffery (Julie) Nelson, Redwood Falls, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Fern and Lawrence Killian, paternal grandparents Judy and Leonard Nelson, her aunt Sandra Nelson and uncle Tom Killian.
Services: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Evelyn (Thompson) Kringlen 1929-2010
July 21, 1929 - November 22, 2010
Evelyn Kringlen, age 81, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed to her
heavenly home on Monday, November 22, 2010 surrounded by family at Altru
Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Evie was born on July 21, 1929 in International Falls, Minnesota to
Oscar O. and Hazel (Lunsetter) Thompson. She attended Aakers Business
College after high school. On July 27, 1952 she was united in marriage
to her husband, Ralph Kringlen in Hatton, North Dakota. They raised their
family and resided in Grand Forks, North Dakota for 11 years and then East
Grand Forks, Minnesota for 32 years. Prior to starting a family, she
worked at Hatton Implement and Red River Bank.
She was an important part of the family business, Northern Roofing, working as a bookkeeper for many years. Evie returned to school and became a LPN in 1985 and worked at Valley Memorial Homes in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She and Ralph retired to a lake home near Elbow Lake, Minnesota in 1995 and lived there until they returned home to East Grand Forks in October 2009. She loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, baking, golfing and her community of faith.
Evie is survived by children Alan (Cindy) Kringlen of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Alana (Scott) Thureen of Lakeville, Minnesota, Carol (Stuart) Lindor of North Bend, WA, Karl (Renee) Kringlen of East Grand Forks, Minnesota and 11 beloved grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Delores Beck of Grand Forks, North Dakota a brother, Ernest (JoAnn) Thompson of Lake City, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
Evie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph in 2009, a son Daniel in 1982 and one brother Orville Thompson.
Memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church of East Grand Forks, Minnesota or United Lutheran Church of Elbow Lake, Minnesota.

Life Legacy--
Olga K. Johnson, age 92, of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away on
Friday, July 13, 2012 at her home.
Olga Katherine Johnson was born on January 13, 1920, on the family farm
near Wolf Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Gustave H. and Anna (Komulainen)
Haataja. Olga was born and raised in the Wolf Lake area until moving to
Sebeka, Minnesota. On September 25, 1938 she was united in marriage to
Eino A. Johnson in Menaga, Minnesota. They moved to the Grand Forks,
North Dakota area where she worked at St. Michael's Hospital and then
as a cook for the Larimore public schools. In 1960 they moved to East
Grand Forks, Minnesota where she worked at the Good Samaritan Nursing
Home. Olga enjoyed playing bingo, enjoying time at their cabin at Maple
Lake, reading, crocheting and many other hobbies.
Olga is survived by her children, Arnold Johnson of Grand Forks, Elaine (Frank) Donarski of Grand Forks, Donald (Barbara) Johnson of Lawton, OK, Dorothy (Gerald) Wayne of Goodridge, Minnesota, Grace (James) Giauque, of East Grand Forks and Willard Johnson of Grand Forks; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Albert (Beatrice) Haataja of Menaga, Minnesota; 1 sister, Thelma Hallonen of Cokato, Minnesota along with many nieces and nephews.

Biography--
Gloria Kaste, 79, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died on October 31, 2010 in the Villa St. Vincent, Crookston, Minnesota.
Gloria was born the daughter of Gunder and Alice (Anderson) Stallmo on January 12, 1931 in Plummer, Minnesota. She grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School, East Grand Forks in 1949. Gloria worked for Cooper Studio, where she met and married Victor Kaste on May 31, 1952 in East Grand Forks. Gloria worked over 40 years at Maves Optical Co. in Grand Forks, retiring in 1997. She loved cooking, gardening, flowers, ceramics and shopping for clothes and shoes. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Eagles and VFW Auxiliary.
Gloria is survived by her two daughters: Debra (Jon) Beiswenger, Diane (Johnny) Mero, all of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; seven grandchildren: Bethany, Bradley, Brent and Brandon Beiswenger, Justin (Aleece) Mero, Nicholas Hecht, and Hunter Mero, five great grandchildren: Jordyn, Jayce, Riley, Chase and Taylor; brothers: Joel (Joyce) Stallmo, Sun City West, AZ and Sherman (Maria) Stallmo, Grand Forks, North Dakota; sister: Shirley Hansen, Wichita, KS, sister in law Joni Stallmo of Huntington Beach, CA and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Victor; her parents; and two brothers: Robert and Howard.

Mary (Murray) Johnson 1962-2012
January 1, 1962 - December 28, 2012
Mary Johnson, 50, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died Friday,
December 28, 2012 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Mary Johnson was born January 1, 1962 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the
daughter of Louis and Jean (Mankie) Murray. She graduated from Sacred Heart
High School in 1980. She worked for Forheart Siding and Window Co. in East
Grand Forks. She married Gary Johnson in East Grand Forks on June 2,
1984. They moved to Ft. Carson, Colorado, and then back to East Grand Forks
in 1986. In 1990 they moved to Fargo where she worked for Fargo Furniture
Outlet and for the State of North Dakota Drivers License Division for a
number of years. They moved back to Grand Forks in 2012.
Mary always loved spending her summers out at the lake just outside
of Cass Lake, Minnesota. She would look forward to day-long pontoon rides
all over the lakes area. Mary also enjoyed a spontaneous trip to the nearby
casino. Winning or losing, she always had a good time.
She is survived by her husband Gary of Grand Forks, daughter Candace (Matt) Abar of Grand Forks, son Cody Johnson of Fargo, North Dakota, siblings, Michael (Joyce) Murray, of East Grand Forks, Daniel Murray of Pharr, TX, Patty (Donny) Anderson of Cass Lake, Minnesota, Tim (Yvonne) Murray of East Grand Forks, and Kathy Else of Grand Forks. She is preceded in death by her parents and 1infant brother Joseph.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are preferred.

Colleen Johnson, 75, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died Sunday,
August 18, 2013. Colleen was born January 13, 1938 in Twin Valley,
Minnesota the daughter of Oscar and Stella (Ness) Johnson. She grew up
in East Grand Forks graduating from EGF Senior High School and attended
Akers Business College in Grand Forks. She worked 45 years at Home of
Economy as a bookkeeper and was a choir member at Our Savior'Church in
EGF for 50 years..
Survivors include her sister Shirley Peters, Oakes, North Dakota, and
brother Oscar "Bud" (Diane) Johnson, Fargo, North Dakota.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Evelyn Mahle,
Dorothy Strommen and Violet and brother Merelyn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Thomas Kluzak 1920-2010

Thomas Kluzak, 89 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, April 27th, 2010 at the Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Thomas Kluzak was born on October 2, 1920 in Northland Township of Polk
County, Minnesota to the son of James and Rose (Kopecky) Kluzak. As a young
boy Thomas started working for various farmers hauling bundles at the age
of 12. He continued working for area farmers living in the Euclid, Minnesota,
area for a year and then the Greenbush area for a year. On November 4, 1946 he was united in marriage to Laura Johnson. In 1952 he started farming with his father and they made their home in the Tabor, Minnesota area from then on. In 1954 he began working during the winter for American Crystal Sugar Company in East Grand Forks, Minnesota where he worked 36 Campaigns. After he retired from farming his passion, they moved to East Grand Forks, Minnesota where they made their home until moving into the Good Samaritan Center Heritage Pines.
Thomas moved to Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota on April 7, 2010. Thomas was a member of the Farmers Union, Modern Woodmen, Western Fraternal Life Association, Cemetery Board for the Czech Cemetery in Tabor, Minnesota and was also a life member of Eagles Club #350 and VFW Post 3817 he also was a member of East Grand Forks, Senior Citizens Center where he also delivered senior meals.
Family members who survive Thomas include his wife Laura of East Grand Forks, Minnesota daughter, Bonnie (Wesley) Paulsen of Greenbush, Minnesota, son, Gary (Julene) Kluzak of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; grandchildren, Kayleen (Kevin) Longworth, Wayne Paulsen, Adam (Wendy Carey) Kluzak and Andrew (Kelly Sweere) Kluzak; great-grandchildren, Jordynn Longworth, Ella Longworth and Joseph Kluzak; sister, Irene Taus, brother-in-law, Leo Johnson, sister-in-law, Betty Jean (Marvin) Krabenhoft along with many nieces and nephews.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Helen Kruta and Rose Kaml, brother, Henry Kluzak, brothers-in-law, George Kruta, Paul Kaml and Wilfred Taus, sisters-in-law, Rose Swartz and Francis Johnson

Albert J. Kovar 1923-2010
June 23, 1923 - February 20, 2010
Albert J. Kovar, 86 of Tabor, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, Minnesota.
Albert was born on June 23, 1923 the 9th child of Joseph and Mary (Vasek) Kovar. Albert attended a one room school in District #46. After finishing school Albert began farming with his dad and brothers. On May 22, 1945 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Vanyo in Tabor, Minnesota.
In 1959 Albert began working winters at a potato wash plant for Lawrence Boushey Potato Company. In 1962 he joined brothers, George and Bill, along with Albert, George and William Vasek and purchased the wash plant. Vasek & Kovar Potato Company stayed in operation until 1971. He farmed with his brother Bill until 1987, and continued to farm with his sons and grandson until his retirement.
Albert's favorite pastimes included playing cards, horseshoes, dancing and going to the casino. Albert very much enjoyed spending time with his family.
Albert is survived by his 8 children: Richard (Karen) Kovar of East Grand Forks, Minnesota Darlyne (Mike) Edgar of Hastings, Minnesota, Genevieve ( Ron) Vonasek of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Tom Kovar of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Julie Scheving of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Debra (Joel) Duray of Rice, Minnesota, Joe (Jennifer) Kovar of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Bob Kovar of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; 29 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; one brother Frank Kovar of East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy on October 7, 1994; sisters: Anna Wavra, Emily Arnold, Mary Horken-Lange, Christine Kovar; brothers: Henry, Joseph, William and George Kovar.

Stephenie Johnson, 23, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota passed away
on Friday, September 20, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile
accident.
Stephenie Jean Johnson was born on June 12, 1990, in Grand Forks, North
Dakota the daughter of Timothy and Susan (Gooden) Johnson. Stephenie grew
up in East Grand Forks and attended school at Sacred Heart, graduating with
the Class of 2008. Following her high school graduation she attended
Northland Community College in East Grand Forks.
Stephenie began working at Wonder Years during college and continued
working there until the time of her death. The children and their families
that she worked with became an important part of her life.
Loving family members of Stephenie include her parents, Tim and Susan
Johnson of East Grand Forks; brothers, Danny Johnson and Charley Johnson
both of East Grand Forks; step-brother, Joey (Maija) Johnson of Thief
River Falls, Minnesota; two nieces, Ayrianna and Reyah; grandparents,
Helen Johnson Infeld of Bemidji, Minnesota and Karl Gooden of East Grand
Forks, Minnesota along with numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Stephenie is preceded in death by grandparents, Stanley Johnson, Earl
Infeld and Lorraine Gooden.

Biography--
Jerry Keller,79, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Jerry Keller was born June 24, 1930 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the son of George and Gunda (Dahl) Keller. He grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School. He then attended UND until he joined the USAF, where he served in the Korean War. Following his service time in the military he continued his education at UND.
He married Karen Madigan in August of 1963 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. He then went on to work for the Water and Light Department for the City of East Grand Forks. He later married Doris Praska on July 16, of 1988 in East Grand Forks. He was a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of East Grand Forks, Minnesota and a member of the VFW Post #3817 and also was a life time member and past commander of the American Legion Club #157 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife Doris of East Grand Forks; by three
daughters: June (Larry) Kuntz of Grand Forks, Kathy (Frank) Haywood of
Jacksonville, FL, and Michelle Kozel of East Grand Forks; a son, Mark
(Robin) Keller of Omaha, NE; nine grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and one brother, John (Charlotte) Keller of East
Grand Forks, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by a grandson, Brandon Kozel;
a brother, Richard and another brother in infancy; by two sisters,
Carol Hunt and Ferne Flygare.
Military Honors will be conducted by the East Grand Forks American Legion #157, East Grand Forks VFW #3817 and the North Dakota National Guard.

Lynne Rae Jenkins, 44, of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away Monday,
May 26, 2014 at her home.
Lynne was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on May 17, 1970, to the
late Florian (Pete) and Delores Mae (Goulet) Jenkins. She was raised in
Grand Forks and graduated from Community High School. She worked for Altru
Personal Care Service as well as being a Private CNA and personal care
attendant.
Lynne is survived by her special friend of 18 years, Bob Huebner of
Grand Forks, North Dakota; sons Thomas Leggett (Crystal St. Pierre) of
Grand Forks, North Dakota and Tanner Leggett (Megan Johnson) of Grand
Forks, North Dakota; brothers, Ken (Val) Jenkins of Grand Forks, North
Dakota and Don (Dawn) Jenkins of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; and three
sisters, Sandi (Mac) McCracken "Krejci" of Horseshoe Bend, ID, Tami McCalip
(Tom Whipple) of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Caryn Robinson (Fred
Thomas) of Grand Forks, North Dakota; seven grandchildren and one
great-grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Lynne was loved and will be missed by her friends and family including
her special pet Peanut who will be lost without her and her many young
friends who called her "Mom."

Amos Kotrba of rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on
Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Valley Elder Care Center in Grand
Forks, North Dakota.
Amos Clarence Kotrba was born on September 19, 1926, in Grand Forks,
North Dakota, the son of Wealceslaus J. and Barbara (Minarik) Kotrba. Amos
was raised on the family farm in rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota and
attended Northland Township rural School District #46. He lived on the
family farm for the 3rd generation which was homesteaded in 1889. He took
care of his brother James who had polio and farmed his entire life.
Amos was united in marriage to Jeanne E. Ovsak on September 26, 1969 at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Amos served
on the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Council, Northland Township Board as
Treasurer, was a Charter and past Ranger of The Mens Catholic Order of
Foresters of Tabor, Minnesota, St Wencelaus Court #266, Fraternal Order
of Eagles #350 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota for 65 years and the Modern
Woodmen of America Tabor Camp. Amos enjoyed playing cards, dancing and
listening to "Old Time Music".
Amos is survived by his wife Jeanne; no children; one brother
Donald (Florence) Kotrba of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; sister-in
laws: (Elsie) Mrs. Jacob Kotrba, (Dorothy) Mrs. William Kotrba,
(Bernadette) Mrs. Joseph Kotrba; many nieces, nephews and cousins;
and special friend: Elaine Nelson.
Amos was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Anton, James, Jacob,
Rudolph, Ludvik, Joseph and William; sisters: Mary Gust, Ludmilla Wavra.

Biography--
Ronald F. Johnson, 74, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died Friday,
August 8, 2014, at the Woodside Village, Grand Forks, North Dakota with
his wife of 25 years by his side.
Ronald Frances Johnson was born June
8, 1940 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the son of Harold and Eloise (Eblen)
Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Oslo, Minnesota. He joined the
US Marines and was proud of the time he served his country. He married
Sue Riely on May 18, 1989 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He worked as
an electrician in numerous places and states until his retirement in
2002. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but mostly enjoyed time with
his "babies" / dogs Sadie, Maggie and Bella.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 25 years Sue of East
Grand Forks, children, Robert of Lincoln, NB, David (Yavonne) of
Littleton, CO, Wayne Thesing of LaCrescent, Wisconsin, Joseph of
Bemidji, Minnesota, Eric (Jamie) Thesing of LaCrescent, Minnesota,
Cheri Ward of Bemidji, Minnesota and Carisa Thesing (Howard) of Shafer,
Minnesota, brothers, Raymond (Laurel) of East Grand Forks, Minnesota,
Michael of Fargo, North Dakota, Kent (Phyllis) of Virginia, Minnesota,
Neal (May) of Duluth, Minnesota, Daniel (Brenda) of East Grand Forks,
Minnesota, Robert (Sandy) of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, sisters,
Janet (Larry) Smith of Spotsylvania, VA, Elizabeth (Aaron) Brekke of

Everett Louis Kropp 1929-2009

Everett Kropp, 80, of Crookston, Minnesota, died on Sunday, November
15, 2009, at Riverview Care Center, Crookston, Minnesota.
Everett Louis Kropp was born on April 24, 1929, in Crookston, Minnesota,
the son of Everett and Elizabeth Rose (Brantl) Kropp Sr. Everett grew up
and lived by Dorothy, Minnesota on a farm. He lived in Sherack, Minnesota
and worked as a bartender in his fathers bar. He served his country in
Germany from 1952-1954. He moved back to Crookston where he worked at
Zitzer's Greenhouse and later for the Maintenance Department as an
electrician for the Agriculture College in Crookston, Minnesota. He
married Marjorie A. Bordenkircher in Crookston, Minnesota on September
16, 1961. He retired from the University of Minnesota Crookston in 1987
and then worked as a van driver for the Tri Valley Head Start Program
from 1987-1997.
Everett is survived by his wife Marjorie of Crookston, Minnesota; by
three children: Laurie Anne (Lempia) of Center Point, Iowa, John Michael
Kropp of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Michael Charles Kropp of Grand Forks;
two grandchildren, Amy and Daniel Lempia; and one brother Myron Charles
Kropp of Los Gatos, CA.
Everett is preceded in death by his parents and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception, 702 Summit Ave., Crookston, Minnesota.

Dennis Wayne "Denny" Jenson 1945-2014
April 26, 1945 - August 20, 2014
Biography--
Dennis Wayne "Denny" Jenson, age 69, of Grand Forks, North Dakota,
passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 peacefully at his home with
his family by his side.
Denny was born on Thursday, April 26, 1945 in Grand Forks, North Dakota,
to the late Elmer and Thelma (Kvasager) Jenson. He was raised on the family
farm in Bygland Township and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High
School in 1963. On December 27, 1966 he joined the Grand Forks Police
Department and served until February 28, 2003 when he retired at the
rank of Sargent Detective. In addition to his service to the community,
Denny also owned and ran a vending machine route for over 30 years up
until his death.
He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Above all though, his favorite pastime was his daily meeting with the boys for coffee at Gramma Butterwicks.
Denny was married to Judy (Amundson) Haney from 1965 to 1976 and from this union his son David was born in 1968. He was then married to Linda Rader in 1981 in Devil's Lake, North Dakota and his daughter Vanessa was born in 1986.
Denny is survived by his wife Linda Jenson of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Son, David (Colette) Jenson of Valley City, North Dakota; Daughter, Vanessa Jenson of Jamestown, North Dakota; and grandsons, Nick, Jack, and Sam Jenson. He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Thelma Jenson.
The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at the Altru Cancer Center and Hospice for their service during this trying time.
Honors will be provided by the Grand Forks Police Department in recognition to Denny's over 36 years of service on the force.

Dale Kaml 1941-2009

Biography--
Dale Kaml, 68, of rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died on Monday,
May 04, 2009 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Dale Kaml was born January 7, 1941 in Barnett Township, Roseau County,
near Badger, Minnesota. He was one of five children of the union of Otto
and Ada (Kranz) Kaml. Dale grew up in the Badger area where he attended
school. For several years Dale worked on the William Briden farm near
Crookston, Minnesota as a general farm worker and builder of the Briden
tag tandem axle.
In 1963 he started working for the American Crystal Sugar Company of
East Grand Forks, Minnesota and later in Drayton, North Dakota. In 1994
he started employment at Pembina, North Dakota for Motor Coach Industries
until his retirement in 2004. On September 20, 1963 he was united in
marriage to Judy Haller at Crookston, Minnesota. In 1969 Dale and Judy
purchased a farm in Northland Township of Polk County near East Grand
Forks where they settled and raised their three sons. Dale enjoyed to
hunt and fish.
Dale is survived by his wife, Judy; three sons, Alan Kaml, East Grand
Forks, Minnesota, Dean (Lori) Kaml, Grafton, North Dakota and Mark Kaml,
Grand Forks, North Dakota; brother, Otto Jr. (Muriel) Kaml, Badger,
Minnesota; sisters, Lilly and Lucille of Badger, Minnesota and three
grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Williamson.

Kenneth Milan Johnson 1959-2014

Life Legacy--
Kenneth Milan Johnson, age 54, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed
away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Altru Hospital, holding the hands
of his family.
Kenneth was born December 27, 1959 in Warren, Minnesota the son of
Kermit and Dorothy Johnson. Ken grew up on his family farm east of Argyle,
Minnesota and attended Argyle Public School, graduating with the class of
1978. There he met and fell in love with his high school sweetheart
Maryrose Schiller. Ken and Mary were united in marriage at St. Rose
of Lima Catholic church July 10, 1981. Throughout their marriage they
were blessed with three children; Alex, Cole, and Michaella. Shortly
after their marriage they moved to the Grand Forks area, and Ken began
working for Acme Electric.
During his 30 year career as a gifted salesman, he traveled the area selling tools and making lifelong friends. Because of his career he acquired a garage full of tools, and there wasn't a project he wouldn't take on or something broken he wouldn't try and fix. He enjoyed the lake with his family in the summers, hunting with his sons in the fall and would drive near and far to attend any and all activities his children were involved.
Ken's battle with renal failure lasted 9 years during which he was gifted with a kidney by a close family friend. Throughout this journey Ken seldom complained choosing simply to respond "Oh, I've been better." His struggle with illness brought his close knit family even closer, deepening their faith and strengthening their love.
Beloved family members of Ken include his wife of 33 years Mary of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; children Alex Johnson, Cole Johnson and Michaella Johnson; his mother, Dorothy Johnson of Warren, Minnesota; siblings Gary (Beverly) Johnson of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Donna (Robert) Rost of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Deanna Flaten of Fargo, North Dakota; twin sister Karen (Jerry) Riopelle of St. Bonifacius, Minnesota; along with many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Kermit Johnson.
In Lieu of flowers the family respectively asks that memorials be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, school or athletic club.

Marian Helen (Listopad) Knutson, 73, East Grand Forks, Minnesota,
passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009.
Marian was born to Helen (Cicha) and Joseph Listopad on
July 8, 1935, in rural Pisek, North Dakota. She graduated
from Park River High School in 1953. She earned her Bachelor of Science
in Education from Mayville State College in 1963. She worked at a variety
of locations including a bank in Tacoma, WA, Implement Dealers in Grand
Forks, until teaching first grade for the East Grand Forks school system.
She married Vernon "Jeep" Knutson on June 13, 1964. They opened Knutson
Printing Company April 1, 1969 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. They were
married and together until his death October 11, 2007. They had four
children: Jay (Jennifer), Curtis, Dean (Melissa) and Philip (Alissa),
and six grandchildren: Adam, Katherine, Jakson, Noah, Cayden and Carson.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren and her brothers; Joseph Listopad, Jr. (Mara) and Francis Listopad (Patsy).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon "Jeep" Knutson. Her parents Helen and Joseph Listopad, and her brother Eugene Listopad.
Marian enjoyed her many friends, spending time with her dog, Abby, and was always ready for the next adventure. She will be missed by all who knew her.

George A. Kovar 1919-2007

George A. Kovar, 88, of rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota died Friday, July 20, 2007 at his home.
George Kovar was born Feb. 13, 1919 in Northland Township, the son of Joseph and Mary (Vasek) Kovar. He attended rural East Grand Forks School and Sacred Heart Catholic School. He married Cecelia Vanyo on June 12, 1945 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Tabor, Minnesota. They farmed North of East Grand Forks, Minnesota until 1969. He then worked as a mechanic specializing in combines for Massey Ferguson in Grand Forks until retiring in 1983. After retiring he continued to work with family and friends in the farming community.
He is survived by his wife Cecelia of rural East Grand Forks, children, James (Pam) Kovar of Oak Grove, Minnesota, Edward (Lonnie) Kovar of Monument, CO, Donald (Dolores) Kovar, Elaine (Larry) Rivard, Linda (Doug) Peterson and Janice (John) Barrett all of East Grand Forks, Gerald (Renae) Kovar of Fisher, Minnesota, Karen (Jerry) McIntyre, David Kovar (Fiancee Stacie Gerace) both of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Sandra (Terry) Duncan of Port Orange, FL, Anita (Paul) Brazier of Warren, Minnesota, 28 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, brothers Frank Kovar, and Albert Kovar both of East Grand Forks, sister-in-law Beatrice Kovar and brother-in-law Ervin Lange, and special family friend Jim Jones of Grand Forks. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph, Henry and William Kovar, and sisters Anna Wavra, Emily Arnold, Christine Kovar and Mary Horken Lange.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Tabor, Minnesota, the Eagles #350, and the Men's Catholic Order of Foresters. George enjoyed horseshoes, playing cards, and dancing to old time music with Cecelia.

Vernon Julius "Jeep" Knutson 1934-2007

Vernon Julius "Jeep" Knutson of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, was born
on July 11, 1934, in rural Fertile, Minnesota, the son of Julius and Bessie
(Clemens) Knutson. Vernon grew up and attended school in Fertile, Minnesota.
He worked for the Fertile Journal Newspaper while in the Fertile area.
On June 13, 1964, he was united in marriage to Marian Listopad in
Pisek, North Dakota. Vernon worked at the Record Publishing in East
Grand Forks, Minnesota, and the Grand Forks Herald. In 1969, Vernon
started "Knutson Printing" in Grand Forks, North Dakota, retiring in 1995.
Jeep passed away on Thursday October 11, 2007, at the age of 73, at
Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Biography--
Valarie Kruse, 94, formerly of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Thief
River Ralls, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, December 5th, 2007 at
the Waverly Health & Rehabilitation Center in Waverly, VA.
Valarie Henrietta Kruse was born on July 31, 1913, in St. Hilaire,
Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Amelia Olsen. She graduated from
St. Hilaire High School and Teachers College in Thief River Falls,
Minnesota.
Valarie taught in a country school for several years. On July 16th 1941, she married Arlo (Jack) Kruse and they settled in Thief River Falls, Minnesota after Jack returned from the war. Reflecting on here life, Valarie was thankful for the years when she had capacity to actively serve God by teaching Sunday School.
Valarie is remembered as a wife for 63 years, a loving mother and grandmother who had loads of love for her family, grandchildren and for all her friends far and wide.
Valarie is survived by her son Dan (Mary) Kruse of Chester, VA, 4 grandchildren, Jackie (Derek) Greenwald, Heather (Stephen) Rouze, Chris Kruse all of Chester, VA, Jennifer (Dave) Nerud of West Fargo, North Dakota and 9 great-grandchildren.
Valarie is preceded in death by an infant son, husband Jack, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Jean Georgette (Raymond) Kiesau 1914-2008

Biography--
Jean Kiesau, 93 of Grand Forks, North Dakota, formerly of East Grand
Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Valley
Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota
Jean Georgette Kiesau was born on September 14, 1914, in Arvilla,
North Dakota, the daughter of George H. and Olga (Dahl) Raymond. Jean
grew up in Brantford, North Dakota and in 1923 she moved to East Grand
Forks, Minnesota, where she attended East Grand Forks Senior High School
graduating in 1933. On July 14h, 1934 Jean was united in marriage to M.W.
(Bob) Kiesau in Great Falls, MT. Following her marriage to Bob, they
moved to Iowa and then in 1939 they moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota
where they opened a Tire Distribution Store.
They then moved to East Grand Forks, Minnesota where they opened the 1st Home of Economy Store in 1940 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Sadly on March 29th, 1984 Bob passed away. From 1984 to 1985 Jean served as the first woman president of the Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce and in 1986 Jean is elected the first woman president of the North Dakota Retailers Association. In 1998 Jean was named the Chapter Honoree for the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society at the University of North Dakota. This honor is the nation's highest recognition for excellence of academic achievement in the business disciplines.
Jean was a member of Mendenhall Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the choir for 66 years, was a Eastern Star Worthy Matron, a member of the North Dakota Entrepreneur Hall of Fame, the L'Etudier Club. She was also one of the founders of the Mid State Distributing Company, with over 700 members. She also was recipient of the Business and Industrial Development Award from the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce, and a life long supporter of athletics, which include UND Sioux and other local sports. Jean continued operating the Home of Economy stores throughout North Dakota until the time of her death. Blessed be the memory of Jean G. Kiesau.
Family members who survive Jean are her daughter, Virginia (Dr. Robert) Elkema of Grand Forks, North Dakota, sister; Margaret Sullivan of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, sister-in-law; Sylvia Raymond of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, 10 grandchildren, Scott, Cindy, Wade and Chad Pearson, Susie Lundeen, Barb Helm, Katie Schulte, Jenny Davis, Emily Thornell, Rob Eelkema, 19 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jean in death are her parents; husband, Bob; grandson,
Rienk Eelkema; six brothers: George, Gerald, Earle, Dwayne, Pershing and
Calvin Raymond; one sister, Margretta Hambrecht; and a nephew, Jeffery
Raymond.

Herbert Kretzsinger 1958-2008

Biography--
Herbert "Herb" Kretzsinger III, 49, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at his home following a long battle with Cancer.
Herb Kretzsinger was born November 25, 1958 in Limestone, Maine the son of Herbert and Frances (Pakker) Kretzsinger. He grew up in an Air Force family and lived through out the U.S. and Europe. He attended Valley Junior High and Red River High School in Grand Forks. He attended Auto Body and Auto Mechanics School in Salina, Kansas. He graduated from high school in Alexandria, Louisiana. He served his country in the USAF at the Grand Forks Air Force Base from June 1977 to June of 1981.
He married Gretchen Haug on October 10, 1981 in Grand Forks. He graduated from the East Grand Forks AVTI with degrees in Welding and Carpentry. He was a self employed contractor since 1988 where he owned and operated Kretzsinger Construction / Herb's Homes.
He is survived by his wife Gretchen of East Grand Forks; a son, Herbie
Kretzsinger IV of East Grand Forks; his parents, Herbert and Frances
Kretzsinger of Pineville, LA; two sisters Kim (Joseph) Deville of Pineville,
LA, and Mia (George) Stanley of Deville, LA; one brother, Richard
(Katherine) Kretzsinger of Pineville, LA; and by nine nieces and nephews.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Grand Forks Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Nick Kuchma, "Nicky Boy," 86, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed
away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in
Crookston, Minnesota.
Nick Kuchma was born on June 16, 1921 the son of Nick and Ella (Kimock)
Kuchma. Nick grew up in the Tabor, Minnesota area and worked for area
farmers.
He is survived by his sister; Ann Kuchma of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, brothers; John Kuchma of East Grand Forks, Minnesota and George Kuchma of McIntosh, Minnesota, and Nick's Guardian Barb Hangsleben for 39 years of East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank.

George Kozel, 78 of McIntosh, Minnesota, and formerly of East Grand Forks, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the McIntosh Manor Nursing Home, McIntosh, Minnesota.
George Kozel was born on February 21, 1930 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Emil and Agnes (Gust) Kozel.
George grew up and attended school in rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota. He worked on the family farm during his younger years of life in which he so much enjoyed. Due to illness George spent his later years in nursing homes.
Family members who survive George include his siblings: Ann (Ordean) Lind of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Agnes (Donald) Kobetsky of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Helen Haug of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Mary Kozel of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Ted (Ila Mae) Kozel of East Grand Forks, Minnesota and numerous nieces and nephews.
George is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: John, Emil Jr. and Robert Kozel.

Gary Darwin King 1942-2009

Biography--
Gary D. King (Bug), 66 of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away on Friday, March 27th, 2009 in the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Gary Darwin King was born on October 19, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota the son of Russell and Velva (Gresins) King. Gary grew up and attended School in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and graduated there in 1960. In 1968 he joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam.
He married Patricia Bullock on October 15, 1969 in El Paso, TX.
Gary worked at Walman Optical and for Grand Forks Welding and Machine Company for 16 years before retiring in December of 2007.
Gary enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and spending time in the summer at the lake. He loved animals.
He is survived by a son: Shawn (Heather) King of Lexington, SC; one brother: Michael (Pam) King of Lakewood, CO; special friend: Carol Rygg of Grand Forks, North Dakota; stepchildren: Kenny (Sue) Bullock, Renita (Steve) Coelman, Michael Bullock all of Greenwood, SC; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; uncle: Leonard Specht of Commerce, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Russell & Velva King and grandson; Charles K. McDonald III (Tripp).

Ethel Marie (Piker) Koeppe 1924-2009
Ethel M. Koeppe, 85, of Rio Rancho, NM passed away on October 20, 2009.
Ethel Marie Koeppe was born on January 17, 1924. She was the daughter
of Ed and Christina Piker in Tabor, Minnesota. She married Walter Koeppe
on May 26, 1943 in East Grand Forks. She worked at American Crystal Sugar
and later spent most of her life at home as a homemaker and mother to her
children, Susan, Mark, and Jay.
She is survived by her son Mark (Gaylene) of Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada, daughter Susan Wilborn of Bismarck, North Dakota, and son Jay Koeppe of Rio Rancho, NM and by her four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter.
Services were in October of 2009 in Rio Rancho, NM where Ethel was cremated.

Elmer Andrew Kmecik 1923-2007
February 20, 1923 - January 29, 2007
Elmer Kmecik, 83 of Angus, Minnesota, died Monday, January 29, 2007,
at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Elmer Andrew Kmecik was born the son of Andrew and Anna (Voronyak)
Kmecik on February 20, 1923 in Tabor, Minnesota. Elmer grew up and
attended school in Tabor. In 1942 he moved to Fargo, North Dakota
and was a sheet metal worker for Consolidated Aircraft, working on
B-24 Bombers. Elmer entered the US Army in 1945 in Fort Snelling and
served in Japan, working in the motor Pool and Military Police. On
November 13, 1948 Elmer married Ann Palya in Tabor, Minnesota. They
made their home in the Tabor area where Elmer farmed until his retirement.
Elmer was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Tabor, the Eagles and the VFW in East Grand Forks. Military honors will be preformed by the VFW and American Legion of East Grand Forks.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, Angus, Minnesota; son, Ronald, Angus, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Renae (George Cariveau) Kmecik and Rachel Kmecik; and one sister, Mildred Knutson, Aneta, North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his Parents; one son, Wayne; and one sister, Elsie Anderson.

Wednesday January 31, 2007, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Tabor, Minnesota.
Burial:
Wednesday January 31, 2007 at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery, Tabor, Minnesota.

Miles Steven Kleven 1927-2007

Biography--
Miles Kleven, 80, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Miles Steven Kleven was born February 7, 1927 in Donaldson, North Dakota the son of Lars and Mary (Hedlund) Kleven. He moved with his parents to Alvarado, Minnesota where he attended school there. He served in the US Army in Korea from November of 1945 to December of 1946. He married Esther W. Newell in East Grand Forks, Minnesota on February 14, 1948. She died August 11, 1970. He worked as a school bus driver for the East Grand Forks School District and was a lineman for the Rural Electric Association.
He worked for the City of East Grand Forks and retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Public Works in 1990 after 30 years of service. He married Lora Jean Kramer on July 1, 1976 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Miles and Lora Jean enjoyed their years together traveling and camping. In 1995 his surgeries for Cancer slowed him, but not his zest for life. He loved and lived his years to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife Lora Jean of East Grand Forks, sister, Mae Newell, of East Grand Forks, sister-in-laws, Melvina Kleven, and Esther Kleven both of Vancouver WA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Milton, Verner, Leonard, Ernest, Calvin, Arvid, William, David and Earl and sisters Hulda Ferencik, and Fern Kopecky.
He was a member of the Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, East Grand Forks, the Grand Forks VFW #1874, the East Grand Forks American Legion #157, the Eagles #350, the DAV #2, the Cooties, and the East Grand Forks Retired Men's Club and the East Grand Forks Senior Citizens Center.

Torri Knutson, 18, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away
unexpectedly in Fargo, North Dakota, on Saturday, May 12, 2007.
Torri Ellis Knutson was born August 24, 1988 in Grand Forks,
North Dakota, the daughter of Julie McNeese and Brian Huard. She grew
up in East Grand Forks and attended East Grand Forks High School. She
worked at All About Kids Daycare in Grand Forks.
She is survived by her parents Richard and Julie Hill of East Grand
Forks; a sister, Randi McNeese of Grand Forks; brothers: Michael Hill of
Roseau, Minnesota, Tyler Hill of East Grand Forks, and Wyatt Meyer of
Grand Forks; a special niece, Justice Klotz of Grand Forks; grandparents
Rodger and Averiel Enger of Grand Forks, Ellen McNeese of Oostburg,
Wisconsin, many aunts, uncles and cousins and many many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather James McNeese and one
cousin Sarah Gullekson.

Dolores E. (Barnard) Kelly 1926-2007

Dolores E. Kelly, 81, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, died Monday,
December 17, 2007 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Dolores Kelly was born May 7, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the
daughter of Frank W. and Frances (Borash) Barnard Sr. She graduated
from Sacred Heart School in East Grand Forks, Minnesota in 1944. She
married Michael J. Kelly in East Grand Forks, Minnesota on August 4,
1953. She worked for the East Grand Forks Junior High School and
United Hospital as a secretary in the School of Anesthesiology,
retiring in 1989. Michael and Dolores raised eight children in
East Grand Forks and retired to Moorhead, Minnesota, spending
winters in Moorhead and summers in Park Rapids, Minnesota on Potato Lake.
She is survived by children, Shawn (Ellie) of Corte Madera, CA,
Virginia (Tom) Eggleston and their children Kelly and Terry all of
St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, Kevin (Leighann) and their children Ana
and Meara all of Port Jefferson, NY, Barbara Cormican and Fiancee
Gregory Driscoll of East Grand Forks, Minnesota and their children
Nicole, Karri, and Amy, Carol (Greg) Ambuehl and their children
Danielle and Sarah all of Fargo, North Dakota, Jacqueline (Dale)
Pederson of Fargo, North Dakota, Connie (Todd) Adams and their son
Ryan all of Bloomington, Minnesota, and David (Nancy) and their
children Emma, Devin and Ian all of Clayton, CA, and a brother
Frank W. (Jeanette) Barnard of Edina, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael J. Kelly on
April 20, 2007, and 2 grandchildren Stephanie and Lauren, and a
brother in infancy.

Donna Lu (Lilke) Kirkeby 1932-2008
Donna L. Kirkeby, 75, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died Thursday,
February 7th, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Donna Lu Lilke was born in Bathgate, North Dakota, on April 27, 1932,
the daughter of John and Mae (Hall) Lilke. She grew up and attended school
in Bathgate. She married Warren Kirkeby on September 3rd, 1951, in Grafton,
N. D. They made their home in East Grand Forks, Mn., where Donna was
employed for many years at the American Legion in East Grand Forks,
Minnesota and Consource Convenient Store, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
Donna enjoyed spending time with her close friend Pat, her family,
especially her grandchildren and great grandchild. She was very
appreciated of the tremendous care given to her from Lutheran Social
Services and the employees of Sunshine Terrace.
Donna is survived by her sons: William (Patricia) Kirkeby of Warroad,
Minnesota, Timothy Kirkeby of Warroad, Minnesota, and Dennis (Diana) Kirkeby
of Grand Forks, North Dakota; by a daughter, Vicki Ryan of East Grand
Forks, Minnesota; grandchildren: Danielle, Justin, Ginger, Merranda,
Kaylee, and Brady Kirkeby, Molly, Katie, and Tommy Ryan and one
great-grandchild; Cole Desrosier, a sister; Doris Blaski of Denver,
CO; and a brother, Vernon (June) Lilke of Grand Forks, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Mae (Hall) Lilke, sisters; Betty, Helen, Louise, and Phyllis, brothers; Howard, Carl, Brantley, John, Lloyd, and Kenneth

Arthur W. Knutson 1926-2009
December 7, 1926 - January 23, 2009
Arthur W. Knutson of Crosslake, Minnesota, and formerly of St. Hilaire,
Minnesota, passed away at his daughter's home in Fisher, Minnesota on
Friday, January 23, 2009 under hospice care.
Arthur Knutson was born on December 7, 1926 in Moorhead, Minnesota
the son of Sigurd and Inga (Sokness) Knutson. Arthur grew up and attended
school in Moorhead and later moved to Niagara, North Dakota. Arthur entered
the Army and was a cook during WWII. After the war Arthur worked in a lumber
yard in Niagara and then for the Great Northern Railroad. On September 4,
1949 Arthur was united in marriage to Delores Kruse in rural St. Hilaire.
Arthur worked for Union Carbide Corporation (Linde Division, Industrial
gases) in Fargo, Minot, Duluth and Indianapolis. In 1991 Arthur and
Delores moved to Crosslake, Minnesota. Arthur's hobbies were: hunting,
fishing, golfing, gardening, and woodworking.
Arthur is survived by his wife: Delores Knutson; children: Sue Scott, Howell, MI, David (Joanne) Knutson, Eagan, Minnesota, Kathleen (Ed) Bowden, Fisher, Minnesota, Carol Knutson, Red Lake Falls, Minnesota Jennifer (Virgil) Boutain, Plummer, Minnesota, and Scott Knutson, Indianapolis, IN; 18 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Lucille Christianson, Helen Graalum, James Kuntson, Norma Paulson, and Richard Knutson.

Donna Louise (Wesolowski) Kovar 1936-2009

Biography--
Donna L. Kovar, 72 of Alexandria, Minnesota, and formerly of East Grand
Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009 at home from cancer
with her husband and family at her side.
Donna Louise Wesolowski was born April 26, 1936, in Ardoch, North Dakota,
to Florian and Lusiana (Desautel) Wesolowski. Donna was baptized and
confirmed at St. John's Baptist Catholic Church in Ardock, North Dakota.
Donna grew up in Ardock, North Dakota and attended the country school there.
On June 16, 1955, Donna was united in marriage to Larry Joseph Kovar in Ardock, North Dakota. Together Donna and Larry raised six children. Stuart Kovar, Doreen Stortroen, Keith Kovar, Jodie Fite, Kevin Kovar, Karlyne Kovar. Donna was a patient, kind, and hard working mother and wife. Throughout her life, Donna found purpose in helping those around her. Donna helped to run the family business, the Dairy Queen in Roseau, Minnesota and South Forks Dairy Queen in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
She was also a hostess at the Bronze Boot in Grand Forks, North Dakota and operated the Farmsco Cafe in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. After retiring to Lake Bronson, Minnesota, Donna worked at the Community Center in Lake Bronson, St. Joseph's Catholic Store in downtown Grand Forks, North Dakota and Edgewood Vista in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Donna loved to sew, bake and enjoy the outdoors with her family members.
Family member who survive Donna include her husband Larry Kovar of Alexandria, Minnesota; sons: Stuart (Roberta) Kovar of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Keith (Lori) Kovar of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Kevin (June) Kovar of Frazee, Minnesota; daughters: Doreen (Sherman) Stortroen of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Jodie (Harry) Fite of Lexington, KY, Karlyne Kovar of Casselton, North Dakota; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Leona (Art) Singleton of South Bend, IN, Lucile (Ray) Gerszewski of Hanes City, FL, Carol (Ron) Bommersbach of Devils Lake, North Dakota; brothers: Floyd (Deloris) Wesolowski of Lakeside, CA, Norman Wesolowski of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Ronnie (Mary Lou) Wesolowski of Warroad, Minnesota.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents and sister; Eloise and husband Roman Woinarowicz.
Most of all, Donna loved and cherished her family and faith.

Biography--
Carol Knoblich, 80, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died on Tuesday,
March 11, 2008 at Edgewood Vista, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
Carol Grassel was born on December 24, 1927 in Grand Forks, North Dakota,
to Leo and Ovidia (Johnson) Grassel. She grew up and attended school in East
Grand Forks. She married Donald Knoblich on April 3, 1949 in East Grand
Forks. Carol stayed at home to raise their four children. Don died in May
of 1971. Carol worked at East Grand Forks Senior High in food services
and at American Crystal Sugar from 1973 to 1975. Carol entered Edgewood
Vista in 2001.
Carol is survived by her children: Timothy Knoblich, Sioux Falls, SD, Thomas (Penny) Knoblich, Mankato, Minnesota, Dan (Ruth) Knoblich, Grand Forks, North Dakota and Michelle "Micky" Hout, Weaverville, NC; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Robert "Butch" (Ann) Grassel, Camdenton, MO and William (Shirley) Grassel, East Grand Forks, Minnesota; three sister-in-laws: Gayle Grassel and Anita Grassel both of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Mollie (LeRoy) Christianson, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers Leo and Jimmy Grassel; three sisters Laverne Foy, Mary Lou Velaski and Shirley O'Leary.
