Elsie worked at well-known Whitey's restaurant in East Grand Forks for more than 30 years as a waitress and hostess. Even after retiring, she came in daily, just for the fun of it, to hand out menus. Family was extremely important to Elsie, and she would travel around the country for extended stays with her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially around holidays. Elsie was most at home in the kitchen, and loved nothing more than cooking -- especially authentic Italian food -- for friends and family. She blessed us all with her humor and wisdom. After they lost their home in the 1997 Red River Flood, they moved Good Samaritan Society Heritage Grove in East Grand Forks. A special thanks to the staff of Valley Eldercare where she spent her later years and Altru Hospice for their help especially during her final days.
