FORMER MINE CAPTAIN AT ELY DIES SUDDENLY

Ely, Sept. 22. - Capt. Nick Cowling, who until within a year ago was superintendent of the Zenith, Savoy and Sibley mines here and who retired owing to ill health, died at his home in Minneapolis Friday rather suddenly. No further particulars have been learned. Captain Nick was one of the best known men in the Minnesota mining fields and his death is regretted by an exceptionally large number of friends and acquaintances.
