Account of the Late Mails, the Closing Hour of the Watch Competition Will be 12 O'clock Monday Night, August 31st, Instead of 10 O'clock as Previously Announced.
Rules for the special watch offer-
One of these watches will go to a contestant from Crookston or Crookston rural routes. The other will go to a contestant in town or on rural route outside of Crookston and Crookston rural routes.
The choice of either a lady's or gentleman's watch will be given the contestant who brings in the most money on subscriptions between Monday morning, August 16, and Monday night, August 30, at 12 p.m. A trip to the postoffice will be made by the contest manager's assistant at 12 p.m. on August 30th for the last mail in the box.
The amount of money turned in during the next two weeks will not be published until the close of the contest, to protect those contestants who are playing the game on the quitet and who wish to keep their own counsel as to the amount of votes they have on hand.
Votes will be issued just the same as before on every payment. These are simply additional prizes. No matter how much has been turned in to date, an equal chance is given every contestant for the one of these watches. One will go to the city, the other to the country.
DESCRIPTION OF THE WATCHES

From Thursday's Daily-
Because of mail that arrives late in the evening and for the benefit of country contestants, the closing hour of the watch offer on next Monday night, has been advanced to 12 o'clock. All remittances received by mail up to that hour will be credited on the watch offer.
The race for the watches is evidently going to be a hot one. Much interest has been aroused among the friends of the contestants and support is not lacking for those who go after it.
Three weeks from Saturday night the great contest draws to its close. Contestants who expect to win should keep steadily at work from now on. There is no question that the race will be a very close one, and nothing should be left undone by the candidates.
