Crookston/Gentilly: The northwest corner of Gentilly Township is actually part of Crookston Township and is sometimes referred to as "Crookston East."

Vineland/Hubbard: Hubbard Township is in the extreme southwest corner of Polk County. Just to the north of Hubbard is Vineland. When these townships were platted, odd pieces of land remained that extended west to the Red River of the North. These pieces are parts of the townships and are sometimes referred to as "Hubbard west" and "Vineland west."
