The Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran  St. John's Congregation was organized late in 1887. A church was constructed in 1900 in the town of McIntosh. In 1922 St. John's merged with St. Luke's  Lutheran Church of McIntosh. The two congregations chose the name  Our Savior's Lutheran Church. St. John's was chosen for the location of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and is still active.
