The original Hitterdal Lutheran Church of rural Mentor was organized at the home of Haral Jansen on April 2, 1886. In 1890 a building was moved to the Klob land and this was their fist church. Charter members were Ole Mathias, Thor Anderson, Hans Buran, Ole Hanson, Harel and John Jansen, Andreas Thorson and Andreas and Lauritz Vollom. Rev. Heierman was the first pastor. Later a new larger church was built near Maple Bay, being completed in 1904 and is still active.
This cemetery was walked and transcribed by Ann. Below the data table are a number of photos of the cemetery, taken by Ann in September 2003.
